5 to 8 pm.  Join us on July 4th for our deep pit BBQ then the fantastic fireworks show at dusk.  Tickets are available at Carrizozo Mountain Hardware, Carrizozo Market ant the Carrizozo and Ruidoso Chambers of Commerce.  Proceeds benefit the Carrizozo Christmas Luminaria Fund.  Advance tickets are $7 and are $8 at the gate.  For more information call Suzi @ 575-430-4248

Free student theater workshop starts with auditions Monday, July 8; performance Friday July 12 @7.  Calling YOUNG Actors ages 6 – 16 (open to visitors and residents alike) who wish to participate in this summer’s Missoula Children’s Theatre musical play, “Beauty Lou & The Country Beast,” an original take on the classic fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast.” The auditions for the free workshop are 9 a.m. Monday, July 8 at the Spencer. No experience is necessary. Just wear sneakers, a big smile, be committed and ready for fun!

If you are looking for action, look no further than Fort Stanton where the annual Fort Stanton Live! event brings costumed reeanactors from the Civil War and Indian Wars era to the Fort for demonstrations, presentations, concert and a military ball which will have visitors dancing into the night!  The event brings authors, historians, photographers, artists, and a variety of historical vendors to site to share their crafts and other handiwork.  Local food vendors are on hand to provide sustenance for your day at the Fort as well, so bring a healthy appetite for knowledge, food and fun.
