This exhibit at the Hubbard Museum of the American West celebrates New Mexico’s Centennial of statehood with artifacts and images from its own collections as well as from Mr. Murdy, the Library of Congress, the Spanish Colonial Art Society, the Maxwell Museum and the School for Advanced Research.  Don’t miss this wonderful exhibit.

The Hubbard Museum of the American West and the Photographic Society of Lincoln County are proud to present the 21st Annual Fall American Photography Competition and Exhibition.  The Photo Exhibition will be open to the public from November 3rd until March 17.

 Ski Apache

gondola Ski Apache, the United States’ southernmost ski area known for epic warm-weather skiing and unbelievable views of the surrounding Lincoln National Forest, returns for its 51st year on Sierra Blanca with three new chair lifts for the 2012-2013 season. The 2012-2013 ski season is anticipated to open December 7.  Season passes are on sale now.

Ruidoso has a first class tubing area offering some of the most exciting tubing you will find anywhere. We have the most twists, turns, bumps, jumps and bobsled curves
Our tubing area has more lift capacity and the largest tubing snow making system in the Rockies. We are constantly making snow to supplement the natural snow and provide the best tubing experience possible.

With sleigh bells jingling, the crisp air causing the horses’ breath to fog and everyone’s cheeks turning rosy, it is a great way to spend a winter evening in the mountains. A thrilling event for young and old!
Sleigh Rides depart from Martha’s Fabrics’ parking lot on the traffic circle at the west end of Sudderth Drive by the entrance to the Upper Canyon each evening starting at 5:30 PM. Blankets are furnished.

December 1st is a matinee only at 2 pm because of the light parade at 5:30 pm.  November 30, December 7, 8, 9 are from 6 pm to 8 pm.  This is a wonderful walk through time!  See a different look at Bethlehem in Jesus time.  There will be people dressed in period clothing as well as artisans showing their work and a nativity scene. Reservations Only, so make yours early!

Beautifully lit and fantastically festive, the Festival of Lights Parade of Lights starts at 5:30 pm.  Find a spot anywhere from the corner of Sudderth/Mechem, through Midtown to watch the wonderful light parade that ends at the Chamber of Commerce.

This is a tribute performance to the amazing and timeless music of The Platters.  For more than 40 years The Platters hit records have remained classic American standards, literally defining the genre of rock & roll ballads. Today respected producer Larry Marshak’s tribute to The Platters continues to evoke and pay homage to the original group and their one of a kind lead singer, Tony Williams.

See Tony Orlando live for our Christmas Show!  Born and raised in NYC, Orlando began hitting the national charts at the age of 16.  “Tie A Yellow Ribbon ‘Round The Ole’ Oak Tree” became Orlando’s theme song and grew into an American anthem of hope and homecoming, reunion and renewal.

Dummy Gelunde is a sport of sorts, where teams of one to three people construct snow-riding dummies attached to a pair of skis or a snowboard and launch the handmade contraptions over a giant on-snow jump.  Dummies are then judged on distance, air, creativity, takeoff, landing and crowd response.

Join us for our annual, spectacular torchlight parade and fireworks show! The torchlight parade will be on Captain starting at 6:30 p.m., with a beautiful fireworks to follow. The Apache Drum Group will be on the plaza with wonderful, traditional ancient Apache Tribal music. It will be a night like no other. 6 to 9 pm.  Currently celebrating its 37th season, SADSP is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to teaching people with cognitive and physical disabilities to ski and snowboard.  SADSP gratefully relies on the support of Ski Apache Ski Resort, fundraisers, and volunteers to host approximately 200 students each year.  The program turns no one away due to type or extent of disability or financial constraints.  Students and their families come from throughout the country as well as from regional and local schools, disables veterans groups, and development centers. All funds go directly to the program to update equipment, provide training and cover operating expenses.

Indeed, it would be a shameful offense to miss Cindy Williams, the lovable star of “Laverne & Shirley”, as Mother Superior in this zany musical comedy about the Little Sisters of Hoboken!  Co-starring the original New York cast, this newest “Nunsense” adventure takes the Sisters to Tinseltown, where they’re thrilled at the prospect of performing at the Hollywood Bowl.  But oops, they soon discover the actual booking is at the Hollywood Bowl-A-Rama.
